Promoting Her Platform
Miss
Auburn at Work
Alyssa,
Miss Auburn 07-08, recently donated her time and
skills to promote her platform, "Smiles for Kids" - a
non-profit organization through the Sacramento District Dental Society
that performs dental procedures at no cost for underprivileged children.
On this particular occasion Dr. Darce A. Slate, DDS, who owns Pure Dentistry in Rocklin, generously offered his office and services to benefit the children of the area.
Together, on this single day, they helped 22 children with greatly needed fillings, cleanings, extractions and various other procedures.
Alyssa has been a Registered Dental Assistant for 3 years, and plans to continue her work with "Smiles for Kids" as well as with "Give Kids A Smile", a nationwide program developed by the American Dental Society.
